Miss Duygu's 5th Grade: Hello, we are the students of Miss Duygu's 5th Grade at Ozbag Orcun Primary School in Kirsehir. Ozbag is a small country town which is famous for its vineyards. This is our first year participating in this
project (but Miss Duygu was in it last year with another class). We hope that this process will be
joyful and amusing for us. So we are very excited and happy to be with you in the Monster Project.

Uganda
| Mrs. Namata's Classes in Kampala - We are 4th grade
in the Africa country known as the pearl of Africa and that is Uganda and
it's the first time to participate in this Monster project and we so
excited to be one of classes to participate in this project. We are
confident we are going to make something different as it is the first time
do do something on the world basis. We are excited and think it is going
to be great for us to be with different other classes and compete on the

Dominican Republic
| Hola! Hello! We are 3 girls and 10 boys in a class called pre-escolar/primer grado. We are 5 and 6 years old. We live in Cabrera, a small town in the north-east Dominican Republic. We have classes in English and Spanish. We wear uniforms: jeans and a white, blue or red polo shirt. We love studying big bugs that we find outside at snack time (we'll send you a picture!), playing baseball and reading. We don't have air conditioning in our school and it is always really hot at least 28 °C |

New Zealand
| Kia ora from the Livewires and their teacher, Miss

Zealand. We go to a rural school in a dairy farming region (the
Waikato) in the North Island.
We love using computers and and making friends around the world. We

Mr. Humble's Year 6
We are the Year 6 children at St. Oswald's Primary School in Burneside near Kendal in the Lake District of England. This picture was taken when we were on a recent residential trip and we'd gone to do a spot of rock climbing. We live in a small and busy village in a beautiful part of our country. This area is visited by lots of tourists from all around the world. The Lakes are famous for being the home of the poet William Wordsworth and the children's author Beatrix Potter. Check us out on Google Earth and you'll see what we mean. The Year 6 children help run our school website at www.st-oswalds.cumbria.sch.uk . We help to maintain the website in our spare time with our teacher. Class 5 are working very hard this year at developing links with lots of schools from around the globe and we are setting up e-mail links with children from America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Mr.Higgs' Class - Reading, England: - We are year 6. Our school is Battle Primary and our school is in Reading. Our school is on Cranbury Road. This is in England. We are the oldest pupils in school. We are a mixed class of girls and boys. There are 30 of us! We are from all over the world; England, Poland, Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistasn, Bangladesh, Nepal, Russia, Lithuania, China, Barbados, Jamaica, St Lucia, Ghana, Ireland, and Tanzania.

| G'day Fellow Monster Makers We are monster makers from Australia. We live in Bull Creek, a suburb of Perth, the capital of Western Australia about 10 kilometres south of the city centre. Our school, Oberthur Primary School has about 300 students from K - 7. We are a Year 4 class with 29 students and Mrs Lowe's Year 4 class last year took part in the Monster Project for the first time. They had great fun and we are looking forward to making our monster this year. We will also be taking part in another Monster project in October called Where The Wild Things Went. Mrs. Shelby - 4th Grade
We are from Mt. Erie Elementary School in Mt. Erie, IL. We are
from a very small town and school. We are the only 4th grade
here. There are only 11 students in our class (3 girls and 8
boys). Our school's theme is "Catch the Jungle Fever"
and we are the Tree Frog room. We are very excited to
participate in the monster project this year. We think it will

Mrs. McGuire's 5th - Hello. This is Mrs. McGuire's 5th grade class. There are 19 kids in our class; three of the students in our class have never done the Monster Project before. This is the first year our teacher has done the project. Our school has approximately 300 students. Eugene Field is one of five elementary schools in Hannibal, Missouri. Our school is named after a famous poet from St. Louis, Missouri. We live in almost the middle of the United States of America. "America's Hometown of Hannibal" is famous because Mark Twain, the author, lived here as a boy. We are looking forward to the Monster Project!

We live in Alaska. It snows
a lot here. In the winter we have less than 4 hours of sunshine.
In the summer it is light all the time. We go outside for recess
until it is colder than -20 degrees Fahrenheit (-29 C). It can
get as cold as -40 F (-40 C) or -50 F (-46 C) in winter!

Miss Hope's Class - We are the preschool
children of the Bergen Community College Child Development Center in
Paramus, N.J.. We "met" Mr. Smith's class several years ago
through the Symbolic Monarch Migration project. We raise Monarch
Butterflies from the eggs that we collect on the Milkweed in our garden.
We are the youngest monster makers. It is a BIG
job for us but one that is challenging and fun. We work
together as a whole school to create our monster. We learn new
vocabulary, work cooperatively to solve problems, learn new math skills
